“Shared Expressions: A Conversation Amongst Caregivers” is an opportunity for caregivers of older adults to explore your creative side through the making of an art book in a supportive space, guided by professional artists. No art background needed, just your imagination and curiosity. Sessions are taking place online every Wednesday from January 11 to March 1, 2023.

Our Monthly Education Series for New and Veteran Caregivers

Join Social Worker and Dementia Coach Yuliya Goloida to learn the fundamentals of caring for someone living with dementia.  Designed for spouses and partners, as well as adult children of older adults experiencing cognitive changes. This course provides opportunities to share and connect with others in similar situations; get tailored recommendations and resources, as well as clinical guidance to support participants’ own unique experiences. The next four-week, eight session course runs from May 9 – June 1 , 2023.

Our Caregiver Support Group, Spring Series starts Wed. May 10th – Register to Join!
Focus on learning to effectively manage stress and burnout, while strengthening coping skills and increasing your knowledge about caring for a spouse or partner with dementia. This group also brings together daughters and sons of someone living with dementia to share advice, experiences and caregiving support.

Our next group runs from May 10-June 28 (weekly sessions, running for eight weeks). For more information, or inquire about a specific support group:

Next in our Caregiver Webinar Series: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Portraits in Resilience

WEDNESDAY APRIL 26TH, 2023 @ 12PM EST

SPEAKER: Esme Fuller-Thomson

Participants will learn more about grandparents who are the sole caregivers of their grandchildren. The profile of grandparent caregivers will be presented as well as the outcomes for the grandchildren in their care.
Esme Fuller-Thomson is a social work professor and Director of the Institute for Life Course and Aging at the University of Toronto and is an Adjunct Scientist at Baycrest’s Rotman Research Institute. Esme has been studying grandparent caregiving for more than 25 years. She has more than 180 publications in the medical and social science literature. Presentation will be followed by Q & A.
